Bed and Breakfast – The Ideal Traveler’s Accommodation

A bed and breakfast is an ideal solution for many travelers – it provides a cozy atmosphere, and offers everything you need while you are away from home.

Usually, a bed and breakfast is a renovated home that accommodates travelers for short times.  The facilities are usually family owned and ran, and offer a traveler somewhere to sleep, and a breakfast each morning.  Travelers who stay in a bed and breakfast can expect a comfortable bed, and a home cooked breakfast – usually better than what you could expect from a typical hotel chain.

A bed and breakfast can be found in many locations around the world.  A traveler can find a bed and breakfast in Frankfurt, Germany or Vermont in the United States.  A bed and breakfast is usually located in a neighborhood rather than the business or shopping district of a town so the lodgers have an opportunity to see the typical life in the area as opposed to areas usually seen by tourists.  A bed and breakfast is usually run by local people who have converted a typical home into a boarding house for travelers.  This gives travelers a chance to meet some of the local people.

Learn More About Local Culture

Since bed and breakfast facilities are usually ran by local people, you can learn a lot from your hosts – they can tell you about the most interesting sights, perhaps even ones that you would not see listed in a guidebook.  They can also recommend places away from the tourist traps, and give you tips about the local transport system.  If shopping is a part of your trip, they can help you with bargain hunting, and perhaps save you a lot of money.  They can also tell you things about the local history and culture that many tourists staying in a normal hotel may not get to learn.

The owners of bed and breakfasts often work together, so it should be easy to find them and make reservations.  There are comprehensive lists of bed and breakfast facilities available from local tourist boards, and they are often listed on travel web sites, so you should be able to make plans before you leave. There are lots of options available, so do some research and find a bed and breakfast that suits your needs and preferences – you may find you never want to go back to staying in normal hotel rooms.

Bed and Breakfasts are a vital component to a short summer break by the seaside, In the UK there are 100,000's of B&B's all of them unique and a significant number run by eccentrics that make the stay something to remember, reasonably priced with home cooked food in coverted houses! They are great. The personal touches you recieve can no way be matched by the hotel chains.
