Enjoy The Charm of Rome at a Bed and Breakfast

Rome, Georgia is an interesting place with a background full of intrigue and battles.  It was established in 1834, and had its first stretch of railroad, some eighteen miles long, begin construction in 1849.  The railroad took on the name 'The Rome Railroad' in 1890, and was used to transport cotton to and from Rome.  It quickly became a hub for rail and steamboat transportation, making it a major contributor to the cotton industry.

In 1886 Rome was devastated by major flooding from the Etowah and Oostanaula Rivers and historians say the water was high enough a steamboat traveled through town. When the dam at Allatoona was completed, flooding in Rome and the surrounding area in the valley were a thing of the past. Rome blossomed over the next several years, overcoming many hardships to become the wonderful city it is today. The visitor to this Georgia city can find many wonderful sights and locations of historical interest to make their stay a memorable one.

Bed and Breakfast at Zion Farms

Zion means 'the place where God dwells'.  The Zion Farms bed and breakfast is owned by the Cooper family, and is one of the most popular bed and breakfast in Rome.  It offers great views, and is in an ideal location with easy access to some beautiful picnic spots, mountain trails, and private paddocks.  The staff at Zion Farms are friendly and helpful, and would be happy to assist visitors in choosing an itinerary for their stay.  Zion Farms is the ideal place to get a true insight into Rome, and will make every aspect of your stay a memorable one.

There are five guest cottages for the visitor to choose from. The Stone House, the Carriage House, the Van Hooser, the Ford Cottage, and the Stable Cottage. Each has its own decor that has been lovingly placed and unique to the cottage. The amenities are modern and the rooms are very spacious and comfortable. To the enjoyment of most of the younger visitors, The Cottage House even has hideaway beds, making this a memorable bed and breakfast in Rome for the young and young at heart.

Zion can offer activities for all ages and tastes, with everything from mountain biking, to swimming or hiking.  Avid horse-riders can enjoy taking a mount out for a ride around the area, and those who have never even sat on a horse can take advantage of horse riding lessons on friendly, accessible mounts.

Zion sets itself apart from other bed and breakfast in Rome locations in many ways. And the meals are no exception. The culinary experience you will find at Zion Farms surpasses almost any other bed and breakfast in Rome you will find. Few other locations, if any, have their own Chef on staff and on location. Chef Brad Hall prepares an entrée experience like no other with dishes like seasonal salads, steak, salmon and North Georgia trout. There are six main entrées to choose from and they include a variety of fine wines, beers and other drinks.

If you are considering a visit to Rome, you will likely research a number of options to find one that suits your needs and budget.  If you are looking for one that has friendly staff, and offers activities for the whole family, then consider Zion Farms.  They will entertain you and your family, and give you a stay so enjoyable you will not wish to return home…at least, not for a while!
