I´ll always remember staying in a lovely Bed and Breakfast in the Lake District in England, possibly 15 years ago now. It was lovely, it gave that homely, friendly feeling. Timperon Hall was also a working farm so my little boy was able to watch the lambs and help feed them, something you can´t do in a large hotel!
Hi: Your web link for the Chelsea House hotel says "discover warm hospitality….". We arrived at this hotel with a voucher that had been paid for by Visa. We were told there was no room for us. They wouldn’t telephone or email our travel agent and there was absolutely no help in finding other accomodation. We are both in our 60’s and after a long and tiring journey were simply turned out on the streets with our luggage, late in the evening, in a strange city, to find other accomodation. This turned out to be a nightmare. Hospitable – NOT.
Hi Craig:
Thanks for your feedback about your experience at the Chelsea House hotel. We welcome both positive and negative experiences so that we can help our readers make more informed travel decisions.
It 's very disturbing that the hotel staff would turn away two persons in their 60's late in the evening, without even offering to help you find alternative accommodations. We can only hope that this unfortunate event is the exception and not the rule at this hotel.
Once again, thank you for bringing this to the attention of our readers!
