Six Options To Consider instead of Your Choice Hotels
Most of us have select choice hotels where we prefer to stay when traveling. But what happens if the hotel of our choice is not available ? Canceling a well deserved vacation is certainly not an option. Instead, here are six fantastic options outside your choice hotels.
1. The condominiums – Expect luxury and comfort. Condominiums make for great accommodations. They come in all sizes from one bedroom to 15 or more bedrooms. The advantages here are that you get a lot of extra space and amenities at the same tariff as a hotel room. You may never stay in a hotel room again.
2. Vacation homes –Ideal for family travel and family vacations. You will never know that you left home. Vacation homes as comparable to the condos, with all the comforts of home. The down side is that the vacation home might not be at a prime location. On the other hand, that just might be an advantage. After all, you will be away from the crowded tourist areas.
Vacations homes are very comfortable and quite affordable. This is an ideal choice if you travel in a group. Imagine 2 or three couples traveling together for a well deserved vacation. You spend quality time with your friends and still have your privacy. Best of all, you even get to split the rent bills.
3. Resorts – Great option for leisure seekers. There are a number of all-inclusive resorts, which can be an excellent option for you and your family’s accommodation. Imagine having a schedule of fun all pre-planned to meet your every need and desire. The fact that the tariff includes all costs can be very convenient, especially for those who prefer to pay up front and forget it. No need to worry about bills and unplanned costs once you are at the resort. Resorts are excellent for families since they provide luxurious surroundings, action packed daily activities for kids and adults, and excellent amenities at par with those offered by any of your choice hotels.
4. Time-share – This is similar to vacation homes except that you own it. Time share is great when you have it. The downside here is that it has a steep initial fee, and annual maintenance and management fees. Buying a time-share is almost the same as buying a house – so proceed with caution. It is not something that you should do without properly researching alternative options and then analyzing the benefits and disadvantages it offers. You might consider this option only if you and your family plan to travel at least once a year ( and preferably more often) to the destination where the time-share is located. Personally, we prefer the option of vacation homes. Same benefits without the huge financial investment.
5. RV parks and camping – This is a fabulous way to travel and becoming increasingly popular each year. In days long gone by, camping meant roughing it out in the woods. Camping was considered nothing more that a rough vacation meant for those who love to rough it out a little or who could not afford the luxuries of life. What a difference a few years have made.
Nowadays, camping has a whole new meaning. Campgrounds are competing with each other to provide their customers with some of the best facilities possible. Rv’s are equipped with every luxury you can think of. You will think you never left your home. You have that and the fact that there is a lot of open space for the children to play, which makes RV-travel, RV-camping and modern day camping a much better deal than your usual choice of hotels.
6. House-boats – BUYER BEWARE! BE FORE-WARNED! Once you try this, you might never go back for land accommodation – even the best among your choice of hotels would not come close to the fun a houseboat can offer you. This is an option that simply has no comparison.
So there you have it. If your choice hotel is not available, you just might get something even better!

WONDERFUL STAY for our wedding! Wonderful stay, at what must be the best hidden little secret of Aruba. Small, cozy, and secluded. Spotlessly clean apartments, nice kitchenette with all the necessary utensils, but who wants to cook on wedding-holiday? The Garden with swimming pool is a natural part of your apartment. Your host en hostess are always there if you need them, and will keep to themselves if you do not need them. They will provide all the service you need, and will accommodate any wish/trip/tour. Only access able for the guests and their invited visitors, so Privacy is the word! If you are looking for wild nights, or large resort type accommodation, this might not be for you. But for the person looking for a romantic secluded and relaxing holiday, with personal attention and all services available, this is IT.

I have tried Timeshare in the past and although it can be a great option there is a little bit of hit and miss to it (this is getting better of course with the rise of the internet) when I went you were unsure as to where exactly your timeshare was and its condition. I stayed in one near Cape Canaveral and it was wretched I called RSA? And we got located to the Orange County Country Club and it was superb but if I had not complained it could have been a miserable time

I would love to try renting a condo next time I go to the USA - I stayed in LA last year for two weeks, and while the hotel was great, some of my colleagues attending the same event had rented beach-view places for only a small amount more than I spent on my hotel. The places were gorgeous, and since they were the only occupants, they got to throw nice parties without any complaints from the other guests. I'm all caravan-ed out, and timeshares are far too expensive for me - and impractical, since I travel for work, not holidays to favourite destinations each year, but I would love to try a houseboat. The idea of a floating place with all the comforts of home is really appealing.
