The longest I've ever stayed in a regular hotel is one month - that hotel had a kettle, fridge, and microwave though. What extra facilities do you get in an extended stay hotel? Is it just a hob, or do you even get a tabletop oven? I think the convenience of not eating out every night would be great, but I haven't encountered many extended stay hotels when I've been shopping around. Especially not in Europe

I have stayed in these and they are great even when you are staying for only a week. As you have far more amenities than a normal hotel room would offer. You have the same luxury of pools and parking, but you have the added benefit of a kitchenette and living room style area, so that you can do more than just sleep in your room. For business people it will give you more room to work. For families they are good because you can save money on meals while traveling.

This sounds like a great independant option. I do love the fact that you have your own cooking fascilities which is fabulous as my daughter has specific nutritional requirements. For my partner and I it is always a thought of where the hotel is located and if the rooms are sound proof. Mainly as we both sleep reasonably light and not only that when we go on holiday we like total self indulgence without noise polution. So this type of accomadation would really appeal to us.

I just looked up some extended stay hotels, and it looks like they may be suitable for one of my fortcoming trips. I will be spending two weeks in Germany - the hotels do weekly rates, that are quite reasonable, and some of them appear to have better kitchens than I do at home! Considering I am a fussy eater, and my husband is also hard to please, I have a feeling we will be staying at one of those, eating in, and really making the place home!
