I once stayed in the Park Lane Hilton in London, and I have to say I have mixed views about it. It was one of the most expensive ones I have ever stayed in, but I was less than impressed by the room - it was cold, dark and damp. The Hotel facilities were as luxurious as you would expect from a famous Hotel, and the location was fabulous - right opposite Green Park, which benefits from Buckingham Palace just over the other side. I would stay at a Hilton again, but probably not that particular Hilton as I don't believe it offers good value for money.

I do wish there was a hotel somewhere between the low end and the Hilton though. All I want is a good pickup service from the airport, and internet access in my rooms (as part of the room price). Spa's, gyms and swimming pools are all well and good, but I never have a chance to use them when I'm on a business trip, so why pay the extra cost for them?
